Dell Studio Hybrid

Dell Studio Hybrid Compact PC Review
by Melissa J. Perenson
timestamp(1218045600000,'')
Aug 6, 2008 - Dell's new Studio Hybrid makes a strong impression with its stylish design, and its price will make you take notice, too. A basic configuration starts at $499, without monitor; our test configuration, with a 19-inch LCD monitor, cost $1064.

Dell XPS 410

Dell XPS 410 Review
by Lincoln Spector
timestamp(1177455600000,'')
Apr 25, 2007 - When I booted my test unit of Dell's XPX 410, I was pleased to find that this Vista desktop came only with PC-Cillin, Google Desktop, a trial version of Roxio Creator, Microsoft Works, and a genuine Windows Vista installation disc, rather than having tiny icons line up along the system tray like Christmas shoppers at Macy's.

Dell Inspiron 518

Dell Inspiron 518 Value Desktop PC Review
by Jon L. Jacobi
timestamp(1225237200000,'')
Oct 29, 2008 - If you want everyday value performance that's a cut above the norm, take a look at the Inspiron 518. Sporting a 2.4-GHz Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 CPU, 3GB of PC6400 DDR2 memory, and a 320GB Western Digital Caviar SE16 hard drive (7200 rpm, 16MB cache), the unit romped to a very nice WorldBench 6 score of 108. Among value desktops at the time of testing, that number was second only to the 117 posted by the Micro Express MicroFlex 82B. But while the Inspiron 518's ATI Radeon HD3450 turned in gaming frame rates that should satisfy a casual user, it was no match for the MicroFlex 82B's nVidia 8800GT graphics, which quadrupled the Inspiron's frame rates.

Dell OptiPlex 755 Mini-Tower Review
by Narasu Rebbapragada, PC World
timestamp(1190937600000,'')
Sep 28, 2007 - We tested Dell's OptiPlex 755 Mini-Tower ($1272 as of 9/12/07) as part of "Green PCs: A First Step," a story on energy-efficient computing. This business desktop is Energy Star 4.0-certified and meets the stringent EPEAT Gold environmental impact standard. (EPEAT is program funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.) But the OptiPlex 755 also offers strong computing performance and an easily expandable design.

Dell Studio XPS

Dell Studio XPS Power Desktop Review
by David Murphy, PC World
timestamp(1229972880000,'')
Dec 23, 2008 - This Studio XPS (model 435mt) includes a 2.93-GHz Intel Core i7 940 processor, an excellent CPU that delivers powerful speeds in conjunction with the system's 6GB of DDR3 (1066 MHz) memory. As you might expect, a 64-bit Windows Vista version--Home Premium--is this system's operating system of choice. It rests on a single 500GB, 7200-rpm Western Digital Caviar Blue hard drive; a good level of storage, but nothing that hits top-of-the-chart speeds. The PC is priced at $1999 (as of December 3, 2008), and $349 extra gets you a 23-inch Dell SP2309W display.

Dell XPS 420

Dell XPS 420 Desktop Computer [Penryn Q9550 version] Review
by Jon L. Jacobi
timestamp(1201566600000,'')
Jan 29, 2008 - This XPS 420 multimedia computer we tested with Intel's upcoming mainstream 2.83-GHz Penryn Q9550 processor was identical to the XPS 420 with the overclockable QX9650 CPU in every other respect except in price. At $2729, this Q9550 model is exactly $1000 cheaper, and may be the better choice if you don't intend to run faster than spec. Its WorldBench 6 Beta 2 score of 122 is easily fast enough to handle everyday tasks, and the gaming frame rates will satisfy all but the most demanding gamers.

Dell Vostro 200

Dell Vostro 200 Review
by Alan Stafford
timestamp(1187337600000,'')
Aug 17, 2007 - The Vostro 200 is the first desktop PC in Dell's new small-business line of computers and peripherals. The machine's "200" designation might lead you to believe that it's a step above entry level, but from what we saw, it's more like a 100-level product that Dell dresses up with small-business services.

Dell XPS 630

Dell XPS 630 Gaming Desktop PC Review
by Danny Allen
timestamp(1211526000000,'')
May 23, 2008 - Dell's XPS 630 is a stylish and competitively priced mainstream gaming PC that can be souped up with extras such as an Ageia PhysX accelerator, a Blu-ray Disc drive, and up to 4GB of DDR2-800 Corsair Dominator memory. And though Dell recently integrated its XPS and Alienware development teams for future products, a spokesperson confirmed that the company will fully support current XPS notebooks and desktops (such as the high-end 730 H2C, the multimedia-themed XPS 420, and the iMac-rival One) for the remainder of what is typically a 12-month life-cycle for these products. The company declined to confirm when the first Alienware/Dell hybrid systems are likely to appear

Dell Inspiron 530

Dell Inspiron 530 Value Desktop PC Review
by Richard Jantz
timestamp(1204178400000,'')
Feb 28, 2008 - The Dell Inspiron 530 was powerful enough to earn superior scores (for a value PC) in both its productivity and graphics performance tests, yet it's quite inexpensive at $689 (as of 2/7/08).
